What counts

What counts as an execution

An execution counts when it opens exposure and reaches the broker — or might have. That keeps the meter on the thing that costs something, and off the things you need to stay safe.

Counts

  • A market order
  • A pending order placed
  • Each account's order in a multi-account order
  • An order the broker rejected — it reached them
  • An order still being confirmed with the broker

Never counts

  • Closing a position, in full or in part
  • Moving a stop loss or take profit
  • Cancelling a pending or multi-account order
  • An order proven never to have left us
  • A retry answered from its idempotency key
  • Reading accounts, positions and history
Growing, and going over

Add accounts any day. Pay for them after the month.

Connect accounts as you need them, up to your plan's limit. Nothing is charged up front: accounts beyond those included, always-on days and executions beyond the allowance are measured as you go and charged once the month is over. The billing page shows the month so far.

Executions are pooled: every account you pay for adds its allowance to one shared total, so a quiet account makes room for a busy one. Past the allowance each execution is billed rather than refused, up to 2× the allowance, where the meter stops so a strategy stuck in a loop cannot run up an invoice nobody meant to create.

Need more accounts than a plan allows? Move to the next plan — or to Enterprise, priced with you.

Worked examples
Production: 10 accounts, 3 always-on, 22,000 executions

$99 + $25 + $21 + $20 = $165 a month

price, Accounts 6–50, Always-on accounts, Executions over the allowance

Production: 40 accounts, 10 always-on, 88,000 executions

$99 + $175 + $70 + $80 = $424 a month

price, Accounts 6–50, Always-on accounts, Executions over the allowance

Business: 500 accounts, 125 always-on, 1,650,000 executions

$749 + $500 + $1,000 + $1,200 = $3,449 a month

price, Accounts 251–1000, Always-on accounts, Executions over the allowance

Business: 1,000 accounts, 250 always-on, 3,300,000 executions

$749 + $1,500 + $2,000 + $2,400 = $6,649 a month

price, Accounts 251–1000, Always-on accounts, Executions over the allowance

Closing a position is never blocked for billing.

Over your allowance, past the ceiling, on a plan that has ended, at the end of a trial, or with a feature your plan no longer includes: closing positions, cancelling orders and moving stops keep working on every account. A billing problem should never trap anyone in a trade, so the API is built so that it cannot.

FAQ

Pricing questions

How does the trial work?

Every new workspace gets 14 days with 2 demo accounts and every feature, without a card. Choose a plan before it ends to keep going with the same accounts, keys and settings. One trial per person.

What do I pay for?

A monthly price that includes your first accounts — 5 on Production — and a price for each account you connect beyond them ($5 each for accounts 6–50, $3 each for accounts 51–250). Each account comes with an allowance of opening executions, pooled across all of them. Always-on accounts cost $7 a month each. That is all.

Do closing a position, moving a stop or cancelling an order count as executions?

No. Only orders that try to open exposure count: market orders, pending orders, and each account's order in a multi-account order. Closes, partial closes, stop-loss and take-profit changes and cancellations are free and never refused for billing reasons.

What happens when I use more than my plan includes?

You keep trading. Accounts beyond those included, always-on accounts and executions beyond the pooled allowance are measured as you go and charged once the month is over — to the card your plan renews on. Executions stop at 2× the allowance, so a runaway strategy cannot run up an unlimited bill. Closing positions keeps working throughout.

Is there a limit while I'm new?

Usage beyond your plan's price is billed after the month, so how much of it a workspace can run grows with what it has paid. On Production, accounts beyond those included, always-on accounts and extra followers can come to $99 a month to start with, plus whatever you have paid in renewals and usage charges in the last 90 days — it grows as payments go through, or contact us to raise it sooner. If a usage charge still can't be collected after a week of retries, opening new trades, connecting accounts and turning on always-on pause until it's paid; closing positions, cancelling orders and moving stops always work.

Do demo accounts count?

Each plan includes free demo accounts — 2 on Production. Demo accounts beyond that are charged like live ones.

What does always-on mean, and why does it cost more?

An always-on account keeps its MetaTrader terminal running around the clock, so it is ready the instant you trade and streams without a warm-up. On-demand accounts start when you trade and stop when idle. A terminal running all month costs us real compute, so always-on is a small monthly add-on per account, charged by the day.

Is there an annual price?

Yes — paying yearly costs about 17% less than twelve months. Usage beyond the plan is still charged monthly, after each month.

How do I pay?

By card, on fxapis's own checkout page. Moving between paid plans by card starts the new plan straight away and refunds the unused part of the old one. Enterprise can also be invoiced and paid by transfer.

Can I cancel?

Yes, from the console's Billing page. Your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. If a plan ends, you can still close positions and cancel orders on every account.

What does Enterprise include?

More than 1,000 accounts, or terms of your own: a price and limits agreed with you, monthly or annual, paid by card or transfer, with a team that knows your setup.
